Year 10 Girri Girri Story Pole

Year 10 Girri Girri have completed their Story Pole and have placed it in the Indigenous bush tucker garden beside our Yarning Circle.

The project was completed by the group after several lessons of planning, preparation and painting. The concept behind the design is that of contentedness with our community and links we have with those around us that are open to access always.

The group were responsible for the design process, where discussions lead to colour choice and layout of the painting. It took a few months to complete and many laughs and stories were shared. The boys were then responsible for the digging of the hole and the pole was then cemented into place.

Year 9 Girri Girri have started on their Story Pole project and this will be completed and placed into the garden beside the existing pole by the end of Term 4. Each year, the Year 9 Girri Girri will design and add another pole until we have six poles representing all years at high school.

Completion of story pole by Orange High School year 10 Girri Girri students, Brad Simms, Nick Robbins, Jarlen Munday, Jayden Leece, Blaine Bennet, Riley Ward, Elijah Smyth.
